Well, as of 6/20/99, I changed the graphic above because I reached a new "high", maybe now my obsession can come to an end! The graphic (I don't think you can read it so you'll just have to trust me) shows Level 11, score, 68300, w/ just one remaining .... ah, well, toooo bad. Hi Kate .......
Also, I am getting a big charge out of seeing that this page is being found by search engines ---primarily AltaVista. I've never been found by search engines before, makes me feel like I've arrived. If anyone feels like writing me I would love to hear from you --- i wonder about the demographics of who is playing this and what kind of scores you get .... maybe Level 11 is totally awesome, or not so great .... i don't really know. Pipe Dreams is a neat game that I found while taking Part II of my HTML4 class through ZDU. Its an Applet, meaning its written in Java (a programming language). What is neat about Java and JavaScript (which by the way are two separate things) is that they are flatform independent, meaning they will operate with all browsers (I think). They also sort of take over the browser, which I can find very aggravating. Some of my aggravation stems from having a small computer though, I'm operating with just 16 megs of ram, and I would imagine most people on the web now have quite a bit more.
Anyway, if you would like to try this game its really quite neat. I've been doing it a lot but mainly from my hard drive, because of my small computer its easier.
So .... go here to check it out, but I'm disclaiming any responsibility for addiction or carpel tunnel! so, player beware!
Oh, other things: I think it will not work many times from a Network at a workplace, at least that's true for my workplace. When I asked the System Administrator, he said that the server was set on its defaults, but he figured it was a security issue. Also, the author says it probably won't work on the MacOS. Would love for someone to check it out and let me know.

Well, just got distracted myself for about 15 minutes ... could have been two hours!! Also got distracted by making the above graphic, decided the page needed a little decoration, so took a "screen shot" with PSP, shrunk a lot, and I think it looks good. Its an example of how it could look after its been played, as just happened, by me. I have done better though, believe it or not.
